Clients and guests of Pulaski Animal Hospital donated a ton, literally, of cat food, dog food and cat litter during an open house at the newly remodeled hospital July 12.
The donations will be given to PAWS Chicago Food Bank, 3516 W. 26th St. in Chicago.
Two achievements. Pulaski Animal Hospital, 5424 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago, hosted the drive as part of a celebration of two achievements: the hospital’s renewed accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association and the hospital’s ranking as among the 23 best veterinary practices in the Chicago area as judged in a Chicago Magazine survey published in April.
Accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association is awarded to just 14 percent of veterinary practices in the country who voluntarily submit to an intense inspection every three years. Pulaski Animal Hospital has been AAHA-approved for more than 30 years.
Open House. During the open house, more than 200 community members toured the hospital’s new treatment rooms, including state-of-the-art surgical suites and spa-like spacious and airy treatment areas and animal enclosures. Animal-themed limited-edition prints selected by Grace Szpindor, wife of hospital owner Dr. Adam Szpindor, grace the walls, which are painted in melon colors of cantaloupe and honeydew.
